Happy Pride Month! June was chosen because it commemorates the month of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, when a group of people decided to take a stand against injustice and violence. Pride Month is a time of celebration, reflection, and activism for the LGBTQIA+ community as well as friends, family, and allies. Let’s celebrate the contributions and triumphs of the LGBTQIA+ community and the unique identity of each individual. Let’s celebrate all kinds of families, all kinds of love, and all kinds of identities. Let’s hope that we, too, will stand up against injustices and celebrate Pride together.
