Food Memoirs

| |

I admit it – I hate to cook. I love food but preparing it has never interested me. Perhaps unusually, however, I love reading memoirs by people whose lives revolve around food, especially chefs and food writers. To be successful in restaurants and the food business you have to be passionate, and that love for food comes through in their writing. Additionally, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes in restaurants that patrons don’t get to witness and these books bring those secrets to light. If you haven’t read Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential I suggest you start there – his stories and his writing will hook you and leave you hungry for more.
