Contactless Pickup

What is it?

When items you have requested arrive at the library you can pick them up on the Main Floor. If you prefer curbside pickup you just need to schedule it one day in advance and we’ll have it ready for you outside the building.

If coming to the library poses a risk to you or travel is difficult, you may be eligible for home delivery.

How does it work?

Step 1: Put items on hold using your Minuteman Account

Step 2: Wait for an email or phone call that your items are ready to be picked up.

Step 3: Schedule your contactless pickup.  

Step 4: Follow the instructions included in your pickup notification.

Frequently Asked Questions

I just requested a book. Can I come to the library?

You may only pick up AFTER receiving a notice from the Library that your items are ready.

How long will it take to get my item?

This depends on where the item is. Items we own that are on our shelves (marked “Available” in the catalog) should be ready in a day or two.

Please wait for the email or phone call from us to let you know we have your item ready.

I got an email so can I come by at anytime?

Pickup hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM and Friday through Saturday from 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

Schedule your contactless pickup online at least 1 day prior to when you want to come by.

How does pickup work?

Come to the parking lot entrance of the library and look for the bag with your name on the cart.

Bags are put out for your pickup time, but are left out all day in case you are delayed.

What if I can’t find my bag?

You can come to the Circulation Desk on the Main Floor or call us at 781-721-7171 x 5.

When will my items be due?

There will be a due date on your receipt, but we are not charging any late fees through December 2021.

Can I come into the library to browse or use a computer?

Yes! We are open. If you want to reserve a computer ahead of time, you can do that online.

I have books to return. What should I do with them?

All returns can be left in our book drops or be brought inside the building during normal business hours.
