WINCHESTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS WINCHESTER PUBLIC LIBRARY Summer
Reading List 2008 Once again
it
is
time
to
think
about
trips
to
the
beach
and
relaxing
vacations.
Summer is here! It
is
also
time
to
think
about
trips
to
the
Winchester
Public
Library.
We hope that the recommendations in this Summer
Reading List will be of assistance
to you in your quest
for quality reading.
The
list is meant
to be used as a guide, a starting point in your search. We’ve chosen a selection of award-winners, personal favorites, classics, and
children’s choices. The Winchester Public Library will have copies
of all the
titles listed, but specific
titles should be reserved early in the summer. The Children’s Librarians are eager to
assist you in finding your selections. It is important to read daily over the summer.
Join the Summer Reading
Program at the library. Books on tape (or CD) are a wonderful alternative for long car rides,
and several of the titles on this list are available as unabridged recordings. Family read- alouds in the evening
can help to make the summer a special time for everyone. The library has lists of
books that are perfect for reading aloud. Happy
Reading! The
