What is a Library Database?

Library databases:

• contain information from published works in which the facts have been checked, including magazine and newspaper articles, encyclopedias and other reference books.
• often contain full-text articles that you can print or email.
• are searchable by Keywords, Subject, Author, Magazine Title, Date, etc.
• provide citation information: Author, Title, Publisher, Date of Publication.
• contain articles from published sources which are identical to the original printed magazine, newspaper or encyclopedia article. Articles from the databases are not considered general “internet sources” and can usually be used for school reports.
