The Children's Room features books, music, movies, toys, games, audiobooks and storytelling on CD, computer software, board books, and more. Computers are available for children and the dedicated Children's Room librarians are always here to help.

The Children's librarians can help find resources, booklists, reading recommendations, book discussion kits, Parent Pack book kits, and other useful materials for parents.

One of the goals of the Children's Department is to maintain a close relationship with the schools. The librarians work with the school librarians and the teachers to identify materials that will enhance and enrich their classroom work. Please contact the Children's Room for more information. Unique teacher services include:

  • Creation of "Teacher Packs" on given themes to extend the curriculum
  • Tours of the library, tailored to specific age groups
  • Visits to the school can include special programs, booktalks and storytimes

Teachers can also use the Teacher Alert Form to let us know about upcoming projects, required reading, or anything else that will help the library meet their students' needs.
