Hang in there!

Just a quick update: The funding is taking a little longer than we originally thought, so we haven't been able to schedule any workshops yet. We know the waiting is annoying, but we promise to post dates as soon as we are able.

Until then, if you'd like to be added to an email information list, please send a request to winchild@minlib.net, with "LEGO" in the subject line. As always, we promise not to share your email, or use it for any other purpose than updates on the LEGO Science Workshops.

Thanks for your patience.

LEGO Science Workshops at the Library!

Easy-to-use, icon-based programming.

The Winchester Public Library is extremely pleased to announce that we have received a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

We will be using these funds to purchase LEGO Education kits, computers, and video cameras to be used in monthly science workshops for children in grades 2-5. As explained on their website, "LEGO® Education WeDo enables students to learn, construct and then bring their models to life using intuitive drag-and-drop software. It can be applied to language and literacy, math and various engineering, design and technology-based subjects. At the same time students will develop and improve different communication, collaboration and team-building skills."

We are still in the process of finalizing paperwork and purchasing, so please keep checking this blog for more information on scheduling.
